Plant a Tree for Arbor Day: Duke Gardens Members Event
Join us at Duke Gardens to celebrate Arbor Day and learn how to plant a tree so that it thrives. Discover how to assess a tree's root system and to correct depth and circling roots before you plant. The horticulturist will discuss how to prepare the hole, whether to amend the backfill soil and how to water the tree in after planting. You can come back and visit the Arbor Day tree over the years to see how well it is doing. Other Arbor Day activities will be available. Date: Friday, April 27, 10 a.m.-noon. Location: Information available at the Doris Duke Center. Free drop-in event for Duke Gardens members. Parking fees apply. Information: 919-668-1707 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
