Bolivia in Crisis: A discussion

These past weeks have seen violence, conflict and confrontation in Bolivia. After charges of electoral fraud, President Evo Morales resigned, taking asylum in Mexico. A new government, led by right-wing minority parties, has assumed power, and it has been criticized for shooting protestors and failing to reach out to the oppositon. We will hear from two Bolivia experts to better understand the situation:

Cecilia Barja, Community Organizer and former La Paz City Councilwoman
and Jorge Derpic, Assistant Professor of Sociology, University of Georgia

Lunch will be served.
