Join Professor Simon Miles as he talks with Thomas Schwartz about Kissinger and American power.

Thomas Schwartz is the Distinguished Professor of History, Professor of Political Science, and Professor of European Studies at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He teaches courses in the history of American foreign relations, especially the history of the Cold War, as well as special topics on the Middle East and Vietnam War. He attended Columbia, Oxford, and Harvard University, where he received his doctorate in history. Professor Schwartz has received fellowships from the Social Science Research Council, the German Historical Society, the Norwegian Nobel Institute, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and the Center for the Study of European Integration. He has served as president of the Society of Historians of American Foreign Relations, and as the representative of the Organization of the American Historians on the United States Department of State's Historical Advisory Council.
