Leveraging functional selectivity in the neurotensin receptor 1-mediated treatment of addiction

Lauren M. Slosky, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Marc G. Caron at Duke University. Her research integrates G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) biology, behavioral pharmacology and neuroimaging to examine how addictive substances lead to maladaptive changes in brain biology and behavior. Dr. Slosky received a Ph.D. in Medical Pharmacology from the University of Arizona in 2015. Since transitioning to Duke, she has worked to identify novel therapeutic strategies for the GPCR-mediated treatment of stimulant and opioid addictions, with a focus on the development of functionally selective small molecules. Dr. Slosky was awarded a postdoctoral Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) in 2017 and a K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award in 2019 from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIH/NIDA).
