6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

For countries in the Global South, the COVID-19 pandemic poses challenges even more daunting than those faced by the countries of the Global North. Weak public health systems, lower standards of living, and high population densities have been devastating for these countries. Despite all of these challenges, individuals from all industries and disciplines are undertaking important work to fight the pandemic within these countries. Join the Alexander Hamilton Society for a panel discussion featuring important leaders engaged in analyzing and mobilizing efforts to combat the pandemic in the Global South. Our panel will include Dr. Ryan Berg, a research fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) focusing on Latin America and Dr. Gregory Gray, an infectious disease epidemiologist and Duke professor with multiple affiliations. As Americans, we must recognize that COVID-19 is not only having a catastrophic impact at home but also in nations of the Global South whose health systems have been crippled long before the pandemic.
