With less than 1% of venture capital going to Black entrepreneurs, investors need information and resources to invest more equitably and discover opportunities they would otherwise miss in traditional investment ecosystems. This two-day symposium will provide practitioner experience and stories, academic and theoretical perspectives, discussions of challenges experienced by Black and underrepresented founders, and strategies for changing the investment landscape.

Day 1, Inequity by Design, will provide context for today's reality and give participants insight into the experiences of Black and underrepresented founders in today's investment environment. Speakers will include:
William A. Darity, Jr. (Professor, Duke University)
Jamelle Eugene (Founder & CEO, Gryppers)
Connie Evans (CEO, Association for Enterprise Opportunity)
Candace Mitchell Harris (Co-founder & CEO, Myavana)
Moderator: Randolph Wiggins (Venture Partner and Managing Director, Build in Tulsa)

Day 2, Equity by Design, will focus on strategies for creating equitable investment ecosystems and identifying opportunities among entrepreneurs passed over in current investment approaches. Speakers will include:
