Machine Learning in Mental Health
Sponsored by the Ewald W. Busse Lectureship. Andrew Michael, PhD, is the director of imaging analytics and informatics at the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences. He works closely with neuroscientists and clinicians to ensure that cutting edge magnetic resonance technologies and advanced analytic methodologies are implemented in brain imaging studies. He supports Duke research groups in brain imaging study design, implementation of quality control protocols, application of pre- and post-processing methods and in the analysis of brain data using both conventional statistical and advanced machine learning methods. In 2019, Dr. Michael's work on head CT segmentation was nominated for one of the best original research papers of 2019 at the American Journal for Neuroradiology.
