Spring flowers
Saturday, June 05, 2021
10:00 am - 11:00 am

In this online presentation by Jan Little, director of education and public programs at Duke Gardens, we will discuss a group of landscape plants that add beauty, texture, color and flowers to your garden. The program begins with a general horticulture discussion and then introduces a selection of trees, shrubs and perennials, noting their native region, culture, care, design attributes and history with people. Topics for this week include Joe Pye weed (Eutrochium purpureum), smooth hydrangea (Hydrangea arborescens), Japanese hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla), panicled hydrangea (Hydrangea paniculate), oak-leaf hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia), mountain laurel (Kalmia latifolia), and sweetbay magnolia (Magnolia virginiana).

Saturday, June 5, 10-11 a.m. Please join us for one or all Seasonal Celebrities sessions each week through June 12. Register for additional sessions separately. Each session is $8 with a 20% discount for Gardens members and supporters with your discount code. Registration at https://rsvp.duke.edu/d/tjqw6w/.
