The Nasher Museum presents Eve Straussman-Pflanzer, head of the European art department and Elizabeth and Allan Shelden Curator of European paintings at the Detroit Institute of Arts, who organized The Medici's Painter: Carlo Dolci and 17th-Century Florence and edited the accompanying exhibition catalogue.

Eve Straussman-Pflanzer is a specialist in European art, particularly
17th-century Italian painting, and early modern women artists and
patrons. Her notable projects include the exhibition Violence and Virtue:
Artemisia Gentileschi's Judith Slaying Holofernes at the Art Institute of Chicago
in 2013 and the 2016 publication of an essay on the 17th-century
painter Camilla Guerrieri Nati. Before she joined the Detroit Institute of Arts, she was assistant director of curatorial affairs and senior curator of collections at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College.
