Psychiatry Grand Rounds: "Decision Making in the Aging Brain"
Dr. Gregory Samanez-Larkin received his PhD in Psychology at Stanford University and was an Assistant Professor of Psychology, Cognitive Science, and Neuroscience at Yale University before joining the Duke faculty on July 1st. His lab examines how individual and age differences in motivation and cognition influence decision making across the life span. Their research is at the intersection of a number of subfields within psychology, neuroscience, and economics including human development, affective science, cognitive neuroscience, behavioral economics, and finance. Dr. Samanez-Larkin describes himself as an extremely interactive speaker: "I don't use slides and I take direction from audience interaction. I give flexible talks that I tailor in real time to the interests of the audience. I hope people are up for that!"
