POSTPONED!
Join the Social Movements Lab to discuss the challenges and accomplishments of the 2018 feminist strike in Spain. We will have a 'mapping' session on Wed. 9/12 and a 'dialogue' session on Mon. 9/17, facilitated by Ph.D students at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid Ana González Navarro, Lucía Hellín Nistal and by Lab Fellow, Elia Romera Figueroa.

The 8th of March, Spain joined many other countries worldwide during the International Women's Strike. This day, known now as 8M, has become a landmark in Spanish social and feminist history since it represents its first Women's Strike nationwide. The discussion will address how this day was experienced, with a special focus on the university movement. The discussants will talk about some of the main achievements of the feminist movement in Spain, such as the public outreach of feminist debates or the rising class-consciousness within the movement. However, there are still some important challenges to overcome, which will also be discussed.

Two events:
1) A 'mapping' session on Wed., 9/12 - 1pm-2pm

2) A 'dialogue' with the visitors from Spain on Mon., 9/17 - 12pm-1pm

In preparation for our discussions, please read:
