The Canterbury Tales Transcription Project
Sponsor(s): Medieval and Renaissance Studies
This year the Duke Paleography Workshop, led by Dr. Michael Cornett, will plug into The Canterbury Tales Transcription Project hosted on the Textual Communities website. This project is based at University of Saskatchewan (dir. Peter Robinson) and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium (dir. Barbara Bordalejo). The aim is to transcribe all 30,000 pages of the 88 surviving pre-1500 manuscripts and incunables of The Canterbury Tales. Our workshop will transcribe, across the year, 36 manuscripts of "The Wife of Bath's Tale." Participation is open only to registered members of the group.
