Event Image
Monday, April 01, 2019
6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

The Heterogeneity of Experience is a panel discussion co-hosted by Duke Student Government, International Association, and Asian American Studies Program. The panel is meant to be a forum to empower diverse voices within and beyond the Duke community, especially in light of recent events where students of certain countries and origins have felt singled out. The panel discussion seeks to recognize that all diverse students, not just internationals, undergo similar experiences, both directly and indirectly; it is meant to provide students an opportunity to ask questions, have their voices heard, learn about administrative initiatives, and hear faculty perspective. Panelists include VP of Student Affairs - Larry Moneta, Associate VP of Undergraduate Education - Janie Long, Director of the Franklin Humanities Institute - Ranjana Khanna, Director of Asian American Studies Program - Nayoung Aimee Kwon, and cofounder of Define American Chapter at Duke - Axel Herrera. The event will be held on Monday, the 1st of April, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in Perkins 217. Dinner will be served.
