Jambalaya Soul Slam: Newbie Poetry Slam

The Jambalaya Soul Slam series at the Hayti Heritage Center in Durham-the Triangle's longest running poetry event-presents the 1st Annual Newbie Poetry Slam on June 15, 2019. This slam is dedicated to poets who have not slammed before, who will take the stage for the first time as powerful and necessary voices from Durham. This month's featured poet is Brittany Barbee, an Emerging Documentary Artist from the Documentary Diversity Project at the Center for Documentary Studies.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m., the show begins at 8 p.m.; $10 general admission.
