John Knox, Henry C. Lauerman Professor of International Law, Wake Forest University School of Law, and former United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human rights and the Environment. Prof. Knox will discuss his work as Special Rapporteur, including initiatives on climate change and human rights, as well as a call for the global recognition of the human right to a healthy environment. This event is part of the Human Rights in Practice series, organized by Duke Law's International Human Rights Clinic and the Center for International and Comparative Law. Co-sponsored by Duke Environmental Law Society, Duke Human Rights Center at the Franklin Humanities Institute, Duke Human Rights Center at the Kenan Institute for Ethics, Duke Law Environmental Law & Policy Clinic, Human Rights Law Society, and International Law Society.
