Cross-Functional Leadership [Registration Required]

Pratt master's students may register for this workshop at wconline.pratt.duke.edu. This workshop is a part of the Pratt Master's Professional Development Program.

This interactive workshop will provide students with strategies for successfully managing cross-functional teams. Some of the topics the facilitator will cover include influence management, leading meetings, and common leadership pitfalls and how to avoid and overcome them.

Facilitator Bio: Lisa Val Verde is an experienced business leader, adept at leading cross-functional, globally diverse teams. As Medtronic's Marketing Manager for the Asia Pacific, she oversees $42M in regional business and sales performance, alongside the regional business director. She's forged strategic partnerships to drive key business development activities - including clinical study to establish a new model of patient care, commercial pilots, and an artificial intelligence development program.

Previously, Lisa was the principal global product manager at Medtronic, where she drove new product adoption and global growth through commercial excellence. She is a co-founder of Wildernest, a company that supports female entrepreneurship. She has a master's degree in engineering management from Duke University and a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of California-Santa Barbara.
