Pratt master's students may register for this workshop at wconline.pratt.duke.edu. This workshop is a part of the Pratt Master's Professional Development Program.

At the Duke Rec climbing wall, students will learn how to rock climb-exercising trust, communication, and decision making skills and adaptability. Students will: 1) Practice deliberate, thoughtful approaches toward decision making. 2) Develop theirresilience, patience, and flexibility. 3) Learn the necessity of communication and trust with their belay partner. 4) See rock climbing asa potential avenue for personal development and wellness.

Waivers:Students will need to sign digital waivers as they arrive.

What to Wear:Comfortable athletic clothing! Duke Recreation provides all the necessary equipment, including climbing shoes.They do, however, ask that participants bring a pair of socks to wear with the climbing shoes. Participants will be asked to remove any watches, rings or bracelets before climbing.

What to Expect:Duke Recreation staff will be on hand to instruct participants. Duke's climbing wall is 35 feet, with 11 ropes and about 1400 square feet of climbing surface! The wall caters to all abilities from absolute beginners to seasoned climbers.

Arrival:All participants will need to check-in at the front desk of Wilson to gain access to the building, make sure you bring your Duke ID! You'll then head down to the entrance of the climbing wall.
