Virtual: 2019-2020 Graduate Working Groups on Global Issues

Originally started in 1997 through a grant awarded to Duke University Center for International & Global Studies (DUCIGS) by the Ford Foundation, for over two decades this program has supported graduate working groups across campus, each comprised of students from an array of departments, programs and professional schools who gather to discuss topics with a global focus. Included among the themes represented this academic year are Global Mental Health; Ocean Policy; Global Perspectives on Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining; and Corruption in Developing Countries. Currently, DUCIGS is hosting 14 such groups, some of which will be represented in the panel.

The groups who will be presenting are: Corruption in Developing Countries, Decolonizing Global Health in LMICs, Graduates Engineering & Researching Microbiomes, Informed Choices for Equitable Development, and the Ocean Policy Working Group.
