This session aims to provide an overview of the basic concepts of infectious disease epidemiology, as well as to evaluate various impact and challenges of infection prevention and control strategies. The speakers will discuss the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on business operations and share on-the-ground experience from their respective fields.

Part 1 of Webinar Series: The Science and Business of COVID-19
Jointly organized by SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute, NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), the multidisciplinary series of webinars will address issues related to management and containment of infectious disease outbreaks. The connection between medicine and science to economic and business interests will be explored. Where possible, strategies that can be adopted by businesses to be better prepared will be outlined.

Drawing on expertise from the co-organizers and international specialists, the webinar series allows participants to access interrelated knowledge and provides a rich multidisciplinary engagement across the public sector and private industry.
