About the lecture
In 2010 the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation launched the Reinvent the Toilet Challenge (RTTC) to address the growing sanitation crisis in the developing world. Since the launch of RTTC, over $250M have been invested in the development of new technologies and services focused on establishing a sustainable "sanitation value chain". In 2017 a new program, The Sanitation Technology Cluster was launched at Duke University, funded by the Gates Foundation with the charge to build multidisciplinary and multi-institutional partnerships aimed at addressing critical gaps and challenges in the sanitation value chain. This presentation will highlight some early examples and call for proposals to cultivate partnerships to deliver global sanitation solutions.

Lunch will be provided.
