Works by Clara and Robert Schumann, Joseph Joachim, Felix Mendelssohn, and Johannes Brahms. R. Larry Todd is Arts & Sciences Professor and former chair of the Music Department at Duke University. Among his books are "Mendelssohn: A Life in Music," "Fanny Hensel, the Other Mendelssohn," and the recently-released "Beethoven's Cello: Five Revolutionary Sonatas and Their World" with co-author Marc Moskovitz. A graduate of Yale University, he studied piano at the Yale School of Music and with the late Lilian Kallir. His recording with Nancy Green of the complete cello and piano works of Mendelssohn and Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel has recently been released from JRI Recordings. His current projects include recording the Beethoven violin sonatas with Katharina Uhde. Katharina Uhde graduated from Duke University with a Ph.D. in Musicology in 2014. She is Assistant Professor in Violin and Musicology at Valparaiso University, IN. As a concerto soloist, she has appeared with orchestras in Germany, Serbia, Poland, Brazil, and the United States. As soloist, quartet and piano trio member she has won first and second place prizes in international competitions in Prague, Germany, the Netherlands, and she has also won the 2004 University of Michigan Concerto Competition.
