Dr. Wright works in support of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Operational Energy. In this position, he is responsible for informing the developmental oversight of models and simulations associated with energy-related operations analysis in addition to applying said tools. He is also responsible for developing and applying analytic tools in support of wargaming at levels of analysis from enterprise to tactical. He previously served as the Deputy for Analysis in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Operational Energy. Prior to that he was a researcher at the think tank, Institute for Defense Analyses. In that role, he performed a variety of duties including operations analysis of counter-insurgency operations and manhunting, socio-cultural analysis of factors underlying -conflict throughout Africa, counter-terrorism analysis, and a variety of operations analysis-oriented modeling and simulation projects. Dr. Wright has also worked with the Defense Advanced Research Agency (DARPA) on the development of advanced models for logistics analysis in addition to exploring the foundations to Department of Defense approaches to socio-cultural analyses.
