Meal Packaging Event

In March, Duke community members are invited to help package 100,000 meals for N.C. families in need.

Event partners Duke University, Durham Technical Community College, United Way of the Greater Triangle and local Rotary Clubs have worked together to reschedule the Meal Packaging Event for Saturday, March 24. This event will now be held downtown at the Durham Convention Center (301 West Morgan Street, Durham, 27701).

Volunteers will package soup mixes, beans and rice that will then be delivered to partner agencies in Durham, Orange, Wake, Chatham, Johnston, Nash and Edgecombe counties via the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.

Two volunteer shifts are available on March 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The minimum age to volunteer is 5 years old, and minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
