One of the large trees in Duke Gardens.
Thursday, May 10, 2018
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Jan Little, director of education and public programs, Duke Gardens

Beautiful plants that provide color, delight, fragrance, seasonality, and history - these are plants of distinction. Sign up separately for each session to learn about a new group of beautiful and useful plants, or take both seasonal sections. This spring session will look at trees that have stood sentinel over the landscape as our communities, universities and public gardens have been built. Walk through Duke Gardens to meet the trees that have witnessed our development and hear their stories. Instructor: Jan Little, director of education and public programs, Duke Gardens. Next class in the series: June 21, "Hydrangeas," with Jason Holmes. Location: Doris Duke Center. Qualifies for Home Horticulture Certificate elective course. Information/registration: 919-668-1707 or gardenseducation@duke.edu.
