The U.S. Military in a Time of Geopolitical Strain
Join us for the Spring 2018 Dave and Kay Phillips Family International Lecture featuring General Joseph Dunford, the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, at Duke University's Page Auditorium on Wednesday, April 4. Tickets are free but required; available from the Duke Box Office starting 3/20.
Dunford's 5:30pm event will focus on the U.S. military in a time of geopolitical strain. Rubenstein Fellow and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey will offer the introduction to the event.
Peter Feaver, professor of political science and public policy at Duke, will interview General Dunford:
"As the senior-most military officer, General Dunford is the principal military advisor to President Trump and Secretary of Defense Mattis and key member of the national security team. He plays an absolutely critical role on issues of war and peace and is widely respected for his professional expertise, his judgment, and his command of the extraordinarily complex set of strategic challenges confronting the United States today. We are very fortunate that a leader with his day-to-day responsibilities is able to be with us in person. Dunford's visit is a high water mark for the program this year."
The American Grand Strategy Program's 2018 Ambassador Dave and Kay Phillips Family International Lectureship is co-sponsored by the Sanford School of Public Policy and Department of Political Science.
