Zuhaib Mahmood is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Post-Doctoral Fellow at Duke University. He is currently working on a project to forecast international involvement in civil wars. His substantive interests include international conflict and cooperation, international politics of civil wars, and diplomacy and communication between states. His methodological interests include text-as-data, predictive modeling, and computational social science. Dr. Mahmood completed his Ph.D. in Political Science from Michigan State University. His dissertation examined the characteristics of speeches at the United Nations.
