Please join us for a discussion about Edward Snowden and the rights and ethics of whistleblowers with Professors Logan Beirne and Professor Shane Stansbury. Professor Beirne is an ISP Faculty Fellow at the Information Society Project and Research Scholar in Law at Yale Law School. Professor Stansbury, is a Robinson Everett Distinguished Fellow in the Center for Law, Ethics, and National Security, and Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke. Snowden, who leaked classified information from the NSA in 2013, currently resides in Russia after being granted asylum there. The conversation will touch on the legal rights, ethics, and national security concerns of whistleblowing. The panelists will discuss if Snowden is a hero, a villain, or something in between and how we should think about whistleblowers generally. Sponsored by the Duke Law Federalist Society.
