How to Spark a Conversation in the Climate Space

The Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment, and Sustainability partners with Duke Environmental Justice Network, Graduate and Professional Student Government, Nicholas School Student Council, and Undergraduate Environmental Union to organize the "How to Spark Conversation in the Climate Space: A Roundtable Discussion."

Three outstanding speakers will join us:

Norman Wirzba, Gilbert T. Rowe Distinguished Professor of Christian Theology at Duke Divinity School and senior fellow at the Kenan Institute for Ethics
Kendall Wimberley MEM '23, a board member of the Duke Environmental Justice Network
Luna Abadia T '26, a climate and justice advocate, U.S. public delegate at the 67th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW67), founder of the Effective Climate Action Project, and a Humanities Challenges scholar in the Duke FOCUS program.

The event aims to explore various ways to spark a conversation in the climate space and make people interested in taking action. We will be learning about how to champion climate conversation in different and diverse spaces, including academia, faith groups, scientific communities, and activist groups.

This will be a guided roundtable discussion at Nicholas GH Gallery, located at the second floor of Grainger Hall, from 4 PM - 5:30 PM on April 6th, 2023. There will be signages when you enter Grainger Hall that will lead you to the Gallery.
