Supporting Duke's commitment to make web content accessible to everyone, we proudly announce the launch of a revamped Web Accessibility site. The updated website is a powerful tool for both educating and training the Duke Community. It now includes a "how to..." section, with information about web accessibility specifically for the roles of content creator, designer, developer, and to details on how to do an accessibility assessment yourself.

Since 2017, new and substantially modified public Duke websites have been required to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 AA before launch. That requirement remains in place, but we are now encouraging that new sites be developed, as feasible, in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA. The web accessibility office has been supporting the new requirements in anticipation of this update. As a result, most standard Duke websites have already incorporated many of the new accessibility features.

The best way to ensure your site meets Duke's Web Accessibility Guidelines is to request a free assessment by the Web Accessibility team.
