Please join us for the next presentation in our 2021-2022 Duke Center for Autism Speaker Series! Our speakers will be Sudha Arunachalam, PhD, associate professor of Communicative Sciences and Disorders at New York University, and Rhiannon Luyster, PhD, associate professor of Communication Sciences & Disorders from Emerson College. Dr. Arunachalam's research program examines how infants, toddlers, and preschoolers acquire their native language. She studies children who are developing typically, autistic children, and children with language delay. She is particularly interested in the learning mechanisms underlying language acquisition and in how caregiver-child interactions support learning.
Dr. Luyster is a developmental psychologist whose program of research focuses on autism. She has a longstanding interest in early social communication and language in autism, and she is an author on the Toddler Module of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule - 2nd edition (ADOS-2).
