SOM Academic New Faculty Orientation: Departmental Culture; Secondary Affiliations

Starting a new faculty appointment is an exciting and challenging opportunity, and whether you joined Duke this month or last year, the School of Medicine Office for Faculty wants to make sure you have the tools and support to hit the ground running and to navigate your career here.

In this session, participants will learn how departments support new and junior faculty. The speakers will help explain how and why to pursue secondary affiliations and what is expected for these appointments. Attendees will hear experiences from faculty with primary appointments in a clinical departments.

This seminar will be most relevant for faculty in the basic sciences.
