Special Seminar: Emotion Dysregulation as a Model for Understanding the Intergenerational Transmission of Psychopathology

Dr. Conradt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics at the University of Utah. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2011 from the University of Oregon, where she studied the biobehavioral development of infants reared in poverty. She completed her clinical internship in Early Childhood Mental Health at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Conradt has been continuously funded by the NIH since 2011 when she was awarded an F32 postdoctoral fellowship to examine the biological embedding of early life stress in children with prenatal substance exposure at Brown University. Dr. Conradt's research examines the intergenerational transmission of risk for psychopathology. She defines risk broadly to include poverty, caregivers struggling with substance use, and caregivers with mood disorders and emotion dysregulation. Her research is highly interdisciplinary. She collaborates closely with colleagues in Psychiatry, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, and Molecular Biology. Her work has been covered in media outlets like NPR and she has received multiple national and international early career research awards.
