Is the World in Crisis? A United Nations View
Sponsor(s): Duke Center for International Development (DCID)
Join Dr. Pedro Conceição, director of the United Nations Human Development Report Office, and Dr. Anirudh Krishna, Edgar Thompson Distinguished Professor of Public Policy, for a fireside chat followed by a Q&A session.
Each year the United Nations reports on the state of the world in its Human Development Report. The past three years' reports have consistently issued grave warnings - of the Anthropocene, rising inequality and growing polarization - while holding out hope and plotting promising directions. Dr. Conceição will report from his position at the center of events in the UN.
Hosted by the Duke Center for International Development and the South-North Scholars, this event is free and open to the public.
