The Rudnick Lecture is proud to host Dr. David Ellenson, President of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) and I.H. and Anna Grancell Professor of Jewish Religious Thought, a distinguished rabbi, scholar, and leader of the Reform Movement. He is internationally recognized for his publications and research in the areas of Jewish religious thought, ethics, and modern Jewish history. Rabbi Ellenson's lecture is entitled: "Jewish Peoplehood in the Jewish State: Marriage, Conversion, and the Future of Israel"A gala reception will be held after the lecture in celebration of both Dr. Ellenson and the Duke Center for Jewish Studies' 40th Anniversary Celebration. This event is free and open to the public and is made possible by the Rudnick endowment, and the efforts of the Duke Center for Jewish Studies and Office of Global Strategy and Programs.
