Join the Lung Transplant Foundation for Lungapalooza 2K12 (2012) on Sunday Oct. 21st on the Davison Lawn for festivities, including a costumed dog walk competition. There will be a musical stroll through the Sarah P Duke Gardens, followed by more festivities on the Davison Lawn. Lung transplantation continues to have the poorest survival rates among the commonly-transplanted organs. The recipients of lung transplant battle issues with both acute rejection as well as a form of chronic rejection called bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS), for which there is no cure. The Lung Transplant Foundation is dedicated to supporting research that seeks to uncover the causes of the high rates of both acute and chronic rejection as well as to find effective treatments for both. The LTF hopes to see you there!
