Implementation of NEPA for MEMs

The Duke Environmental Leadership (DEL) Program is pleased to announce a special FREE offering of "Implementation of NEPA" for Nicholas School MEMs. The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires government agencies to consider the environment prior to undertaking major federal actions. Environmental professionals working/consulting for federal agencies must be fully informed about NEPA in order to implement this charter. This introductory course provides practical, job related skills that are a great addition to any MEM resume.This course will be held as a 2.5 day course over fall break and will not conflict with regular course load. We will also be teleconferencing at the Duke University Marine Lab, in Bookhout 122.Space will be available on a first come, first served basis. Preference will be given to second-year MEMs and NSOE dual-degree seeking students in their last year. Registration deadline is Oct. 8th.Attendance during all course sessions is required. By registering for a course, you are confirming your commitment to attend the entirety of the course. All cancellation requests must be submitted to the DEL Office, in writing via email to del@nicholas.duke.edu, by 4:30 PM, Eastern time, Wednesday, October 10th. Student will be responsible for a cancellation fee of $200.00 should s/he fail to submit cancellation notice or is a "no-show."
