In an exciting finale to our "Rethinking Israel" lecture series, we welcome Gershom Gorenberg, an American-born Israeli historian, journalist and blogger, specializing in Middle Eastern politics and the interaction of religion and politics. In his lecture, "The Second Israeli Republic: Why It's Needed and How to Get There" Gorenberg will describe the development of Israeli democracy and policies that threaten to undermine it, and will discuss what must be done to preserve and renew the Israeli republic. Gorenberg is the author of The Unmaking of Israel, of The Accidental Empire: Israel and the Birth of the Settlements, 1967-1977 and of The End of Days: Fundamentalism and the Struggle for the Temple Mount.Gershom Gorenberg's visit is part of the ¿Rethinking Israel¿ series, which is generously sponsored by the Sara and E.J.
