John Schmitt, MD, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University School of Medicine and Benign Gynecology Specialist, Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist at Duke Medicine. About the Lecture: In this talk, Dr. Schmitt hopes to convey what Duke's collaboration in Women's Health has done over the last four years at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC). More importantly, he will lead participants on a journey to explore what he has found to be keys to being successful in most, if not all, aspects of collaboration, at least in terms of KCMC. These are small steps (patience), relationships, cultural understanding and honesty. In addition, Dr. Schmitt will cover what has been done as well as plans for the next several years in terms of education, clinical care and mutual research. Lunch will be provided.
