Friday, September 12, 2014
11:45 am - 1:30 pm

Please join us for a lively discussion by Sanford professors of Thomas Piketty¿s groundbreaking work, "Capital in the Twenty-first Century." Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman has called Capital in the Twenty-first Century a "magnificent, sweeping meditation on inequality" and "Piketty has transformed our economic discourse; we'll never talk about wealth and inequality the same way." The panel featuring Sanford faculty William Darity Jr., Robert Korstad, Mac McCorkle, and moderated by Phyllis Pomerantz will discuss the book. Free and open to the public. Contact Nathan Rauh-Bieri, nathan.rauhbieri@duke.edu, for information.
