¿Cities, Equity and Quality of Life¿___Enrique Peñalosa Londoño is a Colombian politician, urban planner and activist. He is a former Mayor of the city of Bogotá and co-funder of the Green Party, as well as presidential candidate for the 2014 electoral contest. He worked as a journalist and consultant on urban and transportation policy. In 2009, Peñalosa was elected President of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP). During his tenure as Mayor, the City of Bogotá endured an urban transformation and the implementation of a mass transit project that revolutionized and multiplied the use of public space for democratic means. An example followed by many cities in the developing world.
