A Critical Phenomenology of Solidarity and Resistance in the 2013 California Prison Hunger Strikes
On Nov 11, we are proud to host a public lecture by Lisa Guenther, a philosopher, prison educator, and activist. Guenther is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Vanderbilt University and the author of The Gift of the Other: Levinas and the Politics of Reproduction. She facilitates a weekly discussion group at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville, Tennessee.
Her talk begins at 6:30pm, and will be followed by a lively Q&A and reception. All members of the Duke community, and the public at large, are invited to attend.
