Gita Suneja, PhD
Global Health Exchange

The burden of cancer is large and growing in low- and middle-income countries around the world. Botswana is a middle-income country in sub-saharan Africa with a large HIV population. As survival from HIV has improved in response to a robust antiretroviral program, cancer has become increasingly common. In this talk, Dr. Suneja will discuss ongoing cancer capacity-building initiatives in Botswana, including cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and collaborative research initiatives.
