Thursday, June 08, 2017
5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Dana Galinsky-Malagut

Take a walk in the forest and join a growing tradition that began in Japan called Shinrin Yoku. The idea is simple: if you visit natural areas, sitting or walking in a mindful way, you will feel rejuvenated and calm. Instructor Dana Galinsky-Malaguti, a certified forest therapy guide, will facilitate these gentle, guided walks that support wellbeing through sensory immersion in forests and other naturally healing environments. In the past several decades there have been many scientific studies that document the healing effects of wild and natural areas. Shinrin Yoku builds upon traditions from many cultures that recognize the benefits of a mindful immersion in natural environments. Each walk will end with a refreshment and discussion. Dana brings a wealth of experience in medicine, yoga, coaching and personal training to her role as a certified forest therapy guide.
