Dir. Raoul Peck (2013). 99min | French, English and Creole with subtitles.Haitian filmmaker Raoul Peck will be coming to the Nasher Museum of Art to share his film Fatal Assistance, which explores the complexity of reconstruction and the failures of international humanitarian aid in the wake of the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. A light reception will begin at 5:30. A brief introduction of the filmmaker and the film will begin at 6:15, followed immediately by the film screening. The evening concludes with a discussion between Raoul Peck and author Jonathan Katz (The Big Truck That Went By: How the World Came to Save Haiti and Left Behind a Disaster), with opportunity for audience Q & A. No tickets required. Parking is free in the Nasher Museum lot.
