These four young Frenchmen made th e music smile" (The Guardian).\n\nMaking their version of a musical tasti ng menu\, the Van Kuijks combine an international bouquet of flavors\, st arting with one of Mozart's most unusual pieces: the first movement of hi s Dissonance Quartet\, named for its radical departure from harmonic conv ention. So daring in its conception and piquant in its effect\, the Mozar t sounds strikingly modern\, even in a program featuring 20th-century wor ks by Bartók and Shostakovich.
