DESCRIPTION:Join Professor Jennifer Feltman as she shares her new research
linking a mysterious sculpted head in the Nasher's collection with the C
athedral of Notre-Dame in Paris. Her work illustrates the exciting potent
ial of combining art history and scientific research to reveal the origin
s of sculptural fragments\, allowing us to understand\, for the first tim
e\, their original meaning and use. A wine and cheese reception will foll
ow the talk. \n\nCo-sponsored by the Center for Medieval and Renaissance
Studies. Admission is free. Registration is required. Go to the event web
site (at More Information) to register. \n\nDr. Feltman is Associate Prof
essor of Art History at the University of Alabama specializing in the art
and architecture of medieval Europe. Her current research uses 3D modeli
ng to examine the layers of paint on the sculptures of the Last Judgment
portal of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. Read more at the Nasher e
 vent website.
