The Ciompi Quartet will perform Johannes B rahms' String Quintet #2 in G Major\, Op. 111. \n\nPraised for his "deepl y expressive\, finely nuanced playing" (Strad Magazine) and "superb perfo rmances" (Fanfare)\, Patrick Yim made his solo debut with the Honolulu Sy mphony and has performed chamber music with Juilliard\, Emerson\, St. Law rence\, Pacifica\, and Ying Quartet members\, and musicians from the Cham ber Music Society of Lincoln Center\, Cleveland Orchestra\, and New York Philharmonic. \n\nSince its founding in 1965 by the renowned Italian viol inist Giorgio Ciompi\, the Ciompi Quartet of Duke University has delighte d audiences and impressed critics around the world. In 1980 he was awarded a Fulbright Grant for two years to study clarinet with Prof. Jost Michaels in Detmold\, Germany\, during wh ich time he began performing exclusively as a solist and chamber musician \, and has performed hundreds of recitals and solo appearances on the sta ges of leading European chamber music series.\n\nSince its founding in 19 65 by the renowned Italian violinist Giorgio Ciompi\, the Ciompi Quartet of Duke University has delighted audiences and impressed critics around t he world.
