DESCRIPTION:Dr. Jessica Lunsford-Avery is an Associate Professor in the De
 partment of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Duke University Sch
 ool of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from
  the University of Virginia and earned her Master's and Doctorate degrees
  in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder. Dr. Luns
 ford-Avery completed her clinical internship at Duke University. Since 20
 14\, she has served as a core faculty member of the Duke ADHD Program\, w
 here she engages in research\, education\, and clinical services. Dr. Lun
 sford-Avery has served as the Associate Director for Appointments\, Promo
 tion\, and Tenure for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science
 s since 2025\, and on the internal advisory board for the Duke Center for
  Girls and Women with ADHD since its inception in 2021.\n\nDr. Lunsford-A
 very has published more than 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapte
 rs. Over the past decade\, her research program has been continuously fun
 ded by the National Institute of Mental Health. Further research support 
 has been provided by the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences and the Duke C
 hildren's Health Discovery Initiative. Dr. Lunsford-Avery currently serve
 s as PI on multiple studies investigating sleep and psychiatric health in
  youth\, with a specific focus on children with ADHD. She is also a membe
 r of the American Professional Society of ADHD and Related Disorders\, So
 ciety for Behavioral Sleep Medicine\, and Sleep Research Society\, for wh
 ich she has serves as Vice Chair of. She serves on the editorial boards o
 f multiple scientific journals and has served as a guest editor for Child
  and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinics of North America\, Psychiatric Clinic
 s\, Scientific Reports\, and Current Sleep Medicine Reports. Her work has
  been featured in the Washington Post and on NPR's 1A\, NPR's Morning Edi
 tion\, The Matt Walker Podcast\, and "Talking Sleep\," the official podca
 st of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.\n\nDr. Lunsford-Avery is a 
 licensed clinical psychologist and maintains a practice through the Duke 
 ADHD Program's outpatient clinic. Her research interests are in the areas
  of sleep disturbances and risk for\, onset\, and progression of behavior
 al disorders\, particularly ADHD\; associations between sleep and cogniti
 ve\, academic\, and social performance\; prevention and treatment of slee
 p problems and ADHD\; and leveraging mobile and digital health technologi
 es to increase access to best-practice psychiatric care.

DESCRIPTION:Hans Lowenbach\, MD Memorial Lecture\n\nDr. Philip is a Profes
 sor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Alpert Medical School of Brow
 n University. His clinical and laboratory work is at the Providence VA\, 
 where he serves as Associate Director & Lead for Mental Health Research\,
  at the Center for Neurorestoration and Neurotechnology. \nDr. Philip rec
 eived his BSc from McGill University\, and his MD from Albany Medical Col
 lege where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha and with a Distinction in the S
 tudy of Biomedical Ethics. He then completed his psychiatry residency tra
 ining at Brown\, followed by T32 Treatment Development & Neuroimaging Fel
 lowship and then Neuromodulation Fellowship.\nDr. Philip's career goal is
  to design\, develop\, and deploy neuromodulation treatments for PTSD\, d
 epression and suicide reduction. His work has been funded for the last fi
 fteen years through various federal agencies and foundations\, featured i
 n top-tier journals\, and has given talks across the world. He is active 
 in several psychiatric research societies\, including the Society of Biol
 ogical Psychiatry and American College of Neuropsychopharmacology\, and i
 s a past president of the Psychiatric Research Society. Dr. Philip is pas
 sionate about training and mentoring\, as Associate Director of the Brown
  Psychiatry Research Training Program and is an invited mentor and facult
