Orchestrating Change: Pre-concert panel discussion
Before the Durham Medical Orchestra's performance at 3:00 (Orchestrating Change: A Concert for Climate Action), join us for a panel discussion exploring the intersection of climate change, health, and the transformative power of music. This thought-provoking conversation will feature composers along with climate and healthcare experts to examine how climate change impacts human well-being and how music can inspire resilience and spark collective action toward a sustainable future.
Panelists:
Steven Bryant, composer
Peter Askim, composer
Nichola Clark, senior officer, ocean governance, Pew Charitable Trusts
Tony Huang, M.D., M.H.S., professor of medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine at Duke University Medical Center
Sara Peach, editor-in-chief of Yale Climate Connections
We will also have tables with more information from community partners before and after the performance. Thank you in advance to Citizens Climate Lobby; the Great School Electrification Challenge; Carolina Advocates for Climate, Health, and Equity; and the Duke Office of Climate and Sustainability for sharing their work and opportunities for climate action with our audience and orchestra members.
