The Ethics of Now

Join the Kenan Institute for Ethics and host Adriane-Lentz Smith for a conversation with adrienne maree brown on justice and imagination.

adrienne maree brown grows healing ideas in public through her multi-genre writing, her music, and her podcasts. Informed by 25 years of movement facilitation, somatics, Octavia E. Butler scholarship, and her work as a doula, adrienne has nurtured Emergent Strategy, Pleasure Activism, Radical Imagination and Transformative Justice as ideas and practices for transformation. She is the author and editor of several published texts, cogenerator of a tarot deck and a developing musical ritual. Through all her work, she nurtures imagination as an activity of and way towards justice.

This event takes place at the Durham County Main Library, at the rooftop amphitheater outside, on the third floor. The space is accessible. Copies of Emergent Strategy, Pleasure Activism, and Fables & Spells will be available for purchase, courtesy of the Regulator Bookshop. A book signing and reception will follow the event.

Please be advised that seating is first come, first served. Free parking will be available in the lot behind the library.
